Arup Scope: Facilities Management
Cork Airport Authority (CAA) appointed Arup to provide Facilities Management Consultancy Services. Our objective was to assist CAA to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the maintenance and operation of all new and existing mechanical and electrical systems associated with the new terminal building.
It included the review and update of the draft maintenance plan, a review of construction plans and specifications, integration of the maintenance routines as recommended by manufacturers and creating a resource plan which would fulfill the maintenance requirements the equipment and systems from a balanced supply of in-house technicians and external contractors.
Systems were prioritised into critical and non-critical categories to assist in the quick-decision making process. The scope also included identifying the critical parts to be purchased by CAA, quantities to be kept on site and providing budget costs for these spares.
