Arup Scope: Facilities Management
Arup was retained to evaluate the existing working arrangement and daily operations of Athlone Civic Centre with respect to the progression from segmented offices to one purpose built civic centre. Arup Facilities Management Consultancy developed a number of possible solutions for a future Facilities Management System. Following the recommendations of Arup, Westmeath County Council tendered for a Facilities Management Contractor using Arup as the co-ordinator for this project.
Arup set up all tender documentation, issued it to a pre-agreed list of contractors, evaluated all tender returns from a technical and commercial perspective and provided the client with a full evaluation report of their findings. Based on the evaluation report, Arup was assigned to develop the contract documentation with the appointed contractor and hold post tender meetings to ensure that all parties were agreed and fully understood the requirements of the client.
Subsequent to the appointment of the Facilities Management Contractor, Arup was given a separate appointment to audit the performance of the contractor on a quarterly basis and to report on these findings directly to the client.
