Douglas Village Shopping Centre Cork

This retail development started on site in November 2007 with a project value of €80m and has a demanding programme for the construction of 18 months. During that time the existing shopping centre will remain open with the client contracted to maintain a minimum of 300 car-park spaces on site.
The project itself includes:
- Stabilisation of the existing N25 which abounds the site to the north.
- Construction of all foundation works necessary to facilitate the possible future widening of the N25.
- Diversion of the existing Tramore and Ballybrack Rivers in both open and culverted sections.
- Demolition of sections of the existing Shopping Centre.
- Construction of a new link roadway which will connect East and West Douglas.
- Construction of a new shopping centre to include a new format 50 Tesco store and another major
anchor unit together with smaller mall units. (Total floor area= 25000m²). - Construction of 3 storeys of offices (Total floor area= 2600m² ).
- Construction of a 3 storey car-park comprising 1000 car-park spaces and an interesting spiral scissors
ramp. - Revamp and refurbishment of the existing shopping centre. of the existing shopping centre
