EIA and EIS

EIA and EIS

Environmental Impact Statements are required for certain developments specified by the Planning and Development Regulations.  Arup has extensive experience of managing projects through the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process from project inception to final determination of the application for permission. We have recently managed a number of successful applications for planning permission under the Strategic Infrastructure Act

This process includes:

  • Scoping of EIS
  • Establishing and managing EIA team
  • Appointment of specialist sub consultants
  • Commissioning of base-line surveys
  • Ongoing liaison with the project design team
  • Preparation of text and diagrams for the EIS
  • Review and production of hard and soft copies of EIS
  • Preparation of response to Request for Further Information, if any
  • Preparation of response to Appeal, if any
  • Managing and giving expert witness at an oral hearing
  • Interpretation of grant of permission and conditions
  • Preconstruction compliance activities and reporting

Where necessary we can also recommend suitable specialists to provide additional expertise and services.
