Foreshore and other Discharge Licences
In addition to IPPC and Waste Licences for scheduled activities, Arup has extensive experience of successful application for Foreshore Licences, Effluent Discharge Licences, Air Emission licences and Waste Permitting.
Arup can prepare licence applications on behalf of the client and provide advice on the statutory requirements for such licences. Arup will engage with the relevant governmental department or local authority officers at an early stage, to ensure an efficient application and approval process for our clients.
The applications must be accompanied by sufficient information to satisfy the licensing authority that there will be no unacceptable adverse impact on public health, safety or the environment. For larger projects, this would typically include an Environmental Impact Statement. For smaller activities surveys may be required to characterize the existing or background environment and Arup can commission the necessary surveys on behalf of the client. Arup can also interpret the results of specialist surveys and prepare a report on the environmental impact.
