Athlone Civic Centre
Client: Athlone Town Council
Architect: Keith Williams Architects
Arup Scope: Civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire, acoustics & geotechnics
The "state of the art" Civic Centre incorporates the council chamber, library, exhibition space, one-stop-shop, offices, meeting rooms, associated ancillary service areas and crèche. The four storey high naturally ventilated atrium acts as a social interlinking area between the multi-storey blocks. Arup ensured that an integrated approach was achieved in the design of the new landmark building. The design realises the aims and design targets set out in the brief to produce a building efficient in construction and full life cycle analysis.
