Ove Arup, who founded our company in 1946, was ahead of his time in appreciating the value of quality and standards in engineering design.
Ove Arup's vision was to create an environment where engineers could be innovative, practical and economic, optimising benefit to clients, with socially responsible solutions. He believed that through high calibre personnel, training and infrastructure new standards of excellence could be achieved.
His commitment to this ideal was unique, protected by a partnership without owners or shareholders and monitored by a board of trustees. Through continuous reinvestment and skills development, new markets and fields of expertise have flourished.
Arup is ISO 9001 certified as the basis of our Quality Management System. This is a fully integrated part of our day-to-day activities and is a valuable tool in the success of our organisation.

Following our most recent external audit in April 2009, Arup's Quality Certification has now been upgraded to the revised IS0 9001:2008 standard.
