2008 UCC Postgrad Library
The UCC Post Graduate Library won the Sustainable Energy Awards Category E: Excellence in Building Design or Specification 2008. These awards are growing in stature and are now recognised as the leading awards in the Sustainable Energy Sector. Arup provided the mechanical and electrical engineering.
The Boole library is located in the centre of the campus on the grounds of the UCC campus.
The project consisted of an extension to the East and South of the existing five storey Boole library and the complete refurbishment of the basement and ground floors of the existing building as well as part refurbishment of the upper three floors. The existing building remained operational during all stages of this project and the project building was completed in time for the beginning of the 2007 academic year.
