Shaping Cities of the Future - Evening Lecture

 

Arup were delighted to host an evening lecture by Peter Head, OBE in our offices on Thursday November 26th. The event was very well attended by a broad range of clients and colleagues in the industry.

Peter Head is the global leader of the Arup planning group with comprises over 800 staff. His particular area of expertise is sustainability. He is the Arup project director for the planning and development of the Dongtan Eco-City in Shanghai and the Wanzhuang Eco-City near Beijing. Peter was appointed by Ken Livingstone as an Independent Commissioner on the London Sustainable Development Commission. He is also the advisor to the London Olympics Committee on sustainability issues and the Olympics carbon footprint.

The lecture highlighted how urban cities can be developed and retrofitted to improve resource efficiency and the vision of life in an environmentally sustainable community of the future.

Jerry Mehigan, Managing Director of Arup, welcomed Peter Head and provided an introduction to the lecture.
