Arup shortlisted for Engineers Ireland CPD Company of the Year

For the second year running, Arup has been shortlisted for Engineers Ireland Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Company of the Year Award.  This year's Arup submission is based on our Learning & Development (L&D) programme which is being implemented to broaden and enhance the key internal skills of our staff in the management, technical and legal areas.  Internal trainers were trained using a ‘Train the Trainer' programme to deliver in-house workshops and lectures.   By maximising in-house training opportunities we have utilised the knowledge and experience of our senior staff, allowing savings on our annual L&D budget without reducing the amount of quality CPD available to all staff.  Arup continues to invest in our people in a difficult economic climate because we believe it is good for our business in the medium-term.

The Company of the Year award recognises organisations that have demonstrated clear-cut business benefits arising directly from their use of CPD practices in developing engineering employees to realise innovative projects and initiatives.  The awards, now in their sixth year, are the premium prize for employers of engineers and technicians, designed to identify and share best CPD practices and to celebrate the achievements of CPD Accredited employers.
